About

John Martin Tierney is a songwriter, vocalist and guitarist from Galway, Ireland. He is a prominent figure in the Galway music scene; being a founding member of JANAJ who won the Irish Youth Music Award (IYMA) in 2016, and in 2017 joining Dead Horse Jive who went on to sell out pubs and clubs up and down Ireland with their satirical outlook on life as children of the Celtic Tiger.

At only 26, his career highlights include being invited to play for Irish President Michael D. Higgins, entering the Irish album charts with the IYMA’s album, and headlining a stage at Electric Picnic. As a solo artist, his songs combine the melodies of modern pop with the grit of rock, and the lushest folk. Armed with the ability to connect authentically with the audience, his music is narrative and melodic with catchy hooks, and refrains you'll be singing long after first hearing them.
